Holiday Card Preview

I am so excited to present the holiday cards for the 2010 Holiday season.
Over the next few days, I will be posting new cards each day for my clients to choose from.

I have some great collections to choose from.
Each client gets to pick a unique card - and then it's retired for the 2010 season.

I have designed and created most of these myself
as well as purchased a few templates from other amazing designers.
This is so much fun for me {and lots of work, too}.
I love offering my clients fun & creative products
as well as quality keepsakes to be treasured for years to come.

All designs will be posted by Friday, Nov. 26.
Clients - please choose the card that is your favorite.
Place your order for YOUR holiday cards by Sunday, Nov. 28th.

Turn around time for these cards is QUICK!
______________________________________________________________________

This is just a glimpse of what is to come over the next few days.
I am working diligently to get all of the designs uploaded
for ALL of my wonderful November Holiday session clients.

All of the cards are either 5x7 or 5x5 flats printed on delicious paper front & back!
Any design can be converted to a folded or accordion card, too.

I can't wait to share something truly unique this season
...die cut cards in fun shapes {preview tomorrow}.

If your cards are ordered from Kim Rahn Photography
...they are sure to be like no other.

Welcome Charlie - Atlanta Birth Photographer

Something wonderful happened on November 8 at 9:25pm...
Charlie was born {and I got to photograph it}!!

I can't even describe how happy I am for Kerri & Pat {the proud mommy and daddy}.

Kerri has been friends with my little sister for years and I have practically watched her grow up.

I was beyond thrilled to be able to see her join the club of "motherhood"
and capture Charlie's entrance into the world.

I am so excited and happy for Kerri & Pat
and little Charlie is so lucky to have such great parents.

I will never forget the instantaneous love and adoration in Kerri & Pat's eyes
as they took the first look at their first born, Charlie.

Not only is this boy loved by his Mommy & Daddy,
but lots of grandparents, family & friends were anxiously waiting to meet him.

Charlie was immediately surrounded with great love and hope for his future
{and of course, lots of hugs and snuggles, too}.

I got home after mid-night & could not sleep from all the excitement.  I have been overwhelmed with emotion since.
The birth of a child is such a miracle for so many reason.

Oh, and check this out...

You are reading the scale right.  Little {big} man weighed 10 pounds, 4 ounces.
He already has the sweetest cheeks and a little meat on his thighs...LOVE IT!!!

You can view Charlie's birth video/slideshow
HERE.

Dear Charlie,
God bless you, sweet boy!
It was WONDERFUL to meet you!

P.S.  Today, I got to photograph little Charlie again for his newborn session.
I can not wait to share more images of this sweet baby!

Unforgettable - Douglasville Birth Photographer

Yesterday, I saw more than I have ever seen before, through the lens of my camera.
And I will never forget it.

This is my friend Kristi and her newborn baby, Jonah.  Jonah was born on November 5, at just 29 weeks.  Kristi went through months of physical and emotional trials trying to keep this little guy safe and to reach the goal of carrying him at least to 28 weeks.  After a traumatic birth,
Jonah was born weighing only 3 pounds.  He immediately needed help breathing and was swept away to the NICU.
He has been very well cared for since then...struggling, but making progress.

These pictures were taken on November 10, 2010.  Jonah is 5 days old
& this was the very first time Kristi got to hold her baby boy.

I have had the wonderful opportunity to know Kristi personally and call her my friend.
Over the past few years, I have been blessed by her consistent strength and faith in God's plan for her life,
even  through the tough times.
Jonah's arrival has been no different.  I am amazed at how she is handling this with such grace.

I was honored when I got the call from her, asking if I "wouldn't mind" coming to the hospital to take a few pictures of this special event.  I have prayed so hard for this family for months, as so many in our community have.  When I heard that she had delivered so early my heart ached for Kristi, her family and that sweet baby boy.  I have prayed specifically for something I could do to ease the pain they have been experiencing.
I wanted to "help," but didn't know how.
Her request for pictures was, selfishly, my chance to do something as an expression of support & concern for what she was enduring.
In the end...I was hugely blessed by this tender moment.

Words will never be able to express the true emotional bond being shared between mother & son in these images.
The more she spoke to him in a gentle and quivering voice...the more he fought to open his eyes to look for her.
It was so obvious that he knew is mother's voice.

I was so happy for Kristi and little Jonah...for this moment that they shared.

The tears of joy that I saw on Kristi's cheeks will forever be etched in my mind.

And the amazing gift of touch that God has given these 2 after such a long battle
was wonderful to watch {and capture for them to remember forever}!

Little Jonah is truly a miracle and my friend Kristi is such a heroic mother!

I have never been more grateful for my talent and my opportunity to give it away {through images} as I was at that moment.  I was so unbelievably appreciative to have my camera in my hand and the knowledge of how to use it when these images were created.

I continue to ask for prayers for this family & little Jonah as they struggle through the next few months.
Jonah will remain in the NICU until at least mid-January
They have 2 other children to take care of & the hospital is 45 minutes away from their home.

For now, through my tears of joy,
I praise God for opportunities to serve,
opportunities to see His amazing work and love before my eyes {and camera},
for the faith and strength shared in this incredible family,
and for that tiny little miracle...named Jonah.

I can not wait to photograph his first birthday...what a joy that day will be!

Maternity Session ~ Atlanta, Georgia Maternity Photographer

I had such a great time photographing these two. We met at the beautiful Atlanta Botanical Gardens right in the heart of the city.  We got in our one hour maternity session just before a big storm!   And let me just tell you that it was HOT on this July day in the ATL!  Whew...and this pregnant momma hung in there and took it all in stride.

I have known this momma-to-be for a while now as she is a good friend of my sister.  I was so excited to get to capture this special moment for her.  What an awesome time in life for them...they are expecting their first baby.  You can see from these images that Adrienne and her hubby are just glowing with anticipation and excitement.  And to make it even more fun...they don't known what this little bambino is going to be...a girl or a boy?  Ughhhh, the waiting is killing me!  But not them. They are just as content and calm as can be - enjoying the moment.  These 2 are so cute together as they focus on her baby bump for some really great shots.

What to Wear - Maternity

What to Wear - Maternity

Sweet Sweet Baby

I traveled to Charleston last weekend to say good-bye to one of my dearest and best friends.  She has been more like a sister to me since the day we met, 17 years ago.  Now, she is making a major move with her family to Brazil as her hubby begins a new career.  I am amazed by her strength and inspired by her continuous faith.  I know this is going to be an amazing adventure for them, though I will miss them dearly.
Thank God for Skype!

I was honored to photograph a "quickie" almost 3 month session
for the newest little man in her life.

See that grin...he was staring at his mommy and he is obviously in-love with her!
Completely smitten and in awe of her beauty and grace.

I snuggled this little 11-week old as much as possible throughout our weekend together.

I am afraid I confused him just a bit.
His little sister has always called me Auntie Kim, but now I am known as "aunt pillow boobs".
I accept that title proudly considering I nestled him comfortably on my chest and watched him sleep as often as I could.

I know all of you {especially mommas} are recalling that snuggle of a newborn sound asleep...
...the sound of a newborn breathing, the smell of a baby's hair
... calm, still and peaceful.
I feel my blood pressure dropping just thinking about it!

I {heart} photographing newborns and I {heart} this little guy.

My sweet sweet baby Keeler,
I love you dearly and can not wait to see you grow up
{and please take care of your mommy for me}.

Little Miss Stella Jean - Just turned 1!

I got the chance to spend a few days with this little cutie during my annual girls weekend in Seaside, Florida for the Seaside Road Race.

Stella is so unbelievably CUTE...I could just squeeze her!

And Stella is as happy as she is cute.

Oh, those eyes...stole my heart.
And those cheeks...

Thank you, Camille, for sharing her with us for the weekend
and for letting me photograph sweet Stella.

Sweet Mason - 6 days old

Sweet little Mason came to visit my studio at just 6 days old. He was so adorable and snuggly! I love photographing newborns...but I love getting a little newborn snuggle, too!

He tried so hard to stay awake during our session, but everytime he snuggled with his mommy he would drift off back to sleep.
